I don't see a telnet option to change orientation. Is there a shell
command (e.g., an am subcommand) that can do it? I can probably do it
via a monkeyrunner script if needed.
The status bar of the WP emu's GUI has 2 buttons for orientation
switching, that's what you are supposd to use.

Trying to find undocumented keys (or assume Android/iOS emu keys should
work on WP emu) doesn't seem too productive. Use GUI macro tools if you
need to automate this, I suppose.
Anyway, tell your student to stop using WP emu during your Android class
and on this Android-centric list. :-)
Here's the appropriate forum for WP emu issues.
