This is a bit different from ESRB though - this (I believe) is set by the developer and nobody really checks if the rating matches the product. I suspect this will be generally considered inadequate once the first bigger controversy comes up. Even ESRB is often criticised for not doing their job properly although they have testers who actually play the games. > As for it being required by Google - there is no official announcement is > there? Europe has its own, PEGI: > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEGI ESRB if you want to sell in the U.S., PEGI if you want to sell in Europe etc. I imagine if you get ESRB but no PEGI you'll be presented as rated in the U.S. but Europeans will still see you as unrated.
