It's a standard android 1.6+ app....nothing special...

here's the code where i inflate the menu and the menu xml file.

This is on the galaxy nexus with ICS - no hardware menu button.

Funny thing is that I saw the 3 dots yesterday...but not today.

        @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu)
         {
                 super.onCreateOptionsMenu(menu);

                 MenuInflater inflater = getMenuInflater();

                 inflater.inflate(R.menu.menu_start, menu);

                 return true;
         }

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<menu
  xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android";>
<item android:id="@+id/refresh" android:icon="@drawable/
ic_menu_refresh" android:title="@string/menu_refresh"/>
<item android:id="@+id/settings" android:icon="@drawable/
ic_menu_preferences" android:title="@string/menu_settings"/>
<item android:id="@+id/about" android:icon="@drawable/
ic_menu_info_details" android:title="@string/menu_about"/>
</menu>
