One thing (and it's really annoying) I have noticed on the Galaxy Nexus is that when viewing its files from Windows 7, I am not seeing the latest file/directory structure. I guess this is something related to MTP. I usually end up using AirDroid instead.
Anyway, to the point, so it could be that it seems the directory does not exist, but actually it does.
