It's not a widget. All that has changed of relevance in manifest is this: android:installLocation="preferExternal" (where previously it was not specified).
Here is one email from a user: "my icon was greyed out and got message saying it was not installed. I went to the play store and downloaded again and it said it had been purchased. Then the icon went grey again soon after. I had to do it twice, then this morning it was off again." The fix for this user was to unmount Sd card, re-install app, mount sd card.
