You can quite easily setup an emulator that has the market app on it. I did this once Cyrket went off the air as it's a lot easier to view the position of my apps on the emulator than the actual device. Search Google for that topic to find out how to do it. Free, paid and copy protected apps can be viewed. Don't know about downloading, as I haven't tried that, nor am I interested in doing that on an emulator.
