Unfortunately, I was out and about when the crashes happened, so had no logcat
access; specifically, I was at the vet, waiting for my doggy to finish getting
her shots, and (appropriately enough) trying to catch up on this mailing list.
As a random data point, the crashes happened simultaneously with my losing
signal (the back half of the vet's office has really poor reception on any
cellular provider I've ever been with); as soon as that happened, Gmail would
nose-dive and send the poor Droid into a reboot. I'd come back, get signal,
resume reading... when signal went away again, boom, so did the OS.

However, I mentioned the crashes really only to back up the 'crashing on a
Droid might not be your app's fault' statements in this particular
conversation. I certainly don't expect a solution in this thread. ;)

In my usage experience so far, the Droid does seem less stable at times than my
HTC Dream. And this doesn't seem to be the fault of the third-party apps, as
frequently the issue occurs with built-in apps (Maps, Gmail, Browser are three
of the four that have tanked the Droid on me while out-and-about, with Facebook
being the fourth), so I suspect the issues with such crashes may indeed be
hardware. If you see a ton of crash logs for your app on a Droid, I'd worry.
If you only get one or two, right now I would suspect faulty devices before
suspecting your app.

Yeah, I'm planning to go in later this week and exchange my poor sick Droid, or
at least have them look at the device. I am planning to do a factory restore
first, just in case, but I'm not holding my breath given the reports on the
Verizon and Motorola forums. :P
