No announcement there of course, but the following: http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Cloud-Computing/Google-Has-Big-Plans-for-Google-Voice-Cloud-Computing-in-2010-552678/ has been interpreted as a hint towards VoIP over 3G under the umbrella of Google Voice. This is really nothing terribly new - I've got that running on an old Nokia E-series (out of the box). Worked on UMTS as far back as 2006 without drama, although regular calls were a considerably better experience. Probably still are, over a mature network with decent codecs anyway...
