Actually, I would agree with DonFrench on this point. I haven't tried running the numbers, but I suspect that fewer than 50% of questions asked here get answers, which is all it takes to meet DonFrench's claim. This is why I steer everyone to StackOverflow. It is *much* easier to keep tabs on what questions have and have not been answered on StackOverflow than on these Google Groups. Personally, this is huge, particularly when I am traveling. I try to make sure that intelligent StackOverflow questions get answered (at least, when I know the answers). I can't keep up with this list, even at the best of times. StackOverflow also does not suffer from the sporadic flood of moderated posts that the Google Groups do, offer richer formatting, etc. > The problem is that on these Android groups a lot of people post things > like > "URGENT!: my app doesn't work, why?", or, like in this case, large chunk > of > alien code with no context, or "here's a picture of what I want to do, how > do I do it?", or other equally vague and generic posts that would take > hours > to answer completely. These are the questions that tend to get ignored, even on StackOverflow. Question quality has a huge impact on answer availability. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com Android App Developer Books: http://commonsware.com/books.html -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
