ActivityManager vs Socket Socket Rocket - Im losing my mind! Detecting Socket connection failure I feel like a spammer posting so often, but I'm really at my wits end. I'm almost certain that I'm doing something stupid, but you just don't know what you don't know. When I get a chance to get in front of my development machine, I'm going to try using a Timer as demonstrated here: http://www.javacoffeebreak.com/articles/network_timeouts/ Who knows, maybe it will work but I'm not too optimistic.
