That's just crazy. How can they hope to compete with Apple's paid store? For sure that it's a different (and possibly exciting) interaction model for apps, but honestly the revenue is far less garmented. I don't see why they don't just take a cut from app purchases and then put that towards improving the store and offering paid apps everywhere.
