I am always excited when new open source projects get started,
especially ones as interesting as the android project. I was wondering
if anyone had seen a comparison b/w the android platform and the
openmoko platform. What would be the advantages of going with one
over the other. I know there is a thread started already for a
similar discussion with apple iphone; so I hope there isn't too much
overlap here.

On a separate note, why does android claim to be "Android: the first
complete, open, and free mobile platform". I am sure that openmoko is
all of those things and it predates android. The only thing you pay
FIC for is the hardware (the acutal phone). Anyway, I hope this
sparks some discussion.
