It sure would. The carriers (member of the OHA, no less) seem to be
running away with Android. See ya, suckers. And it really doesn't
matter if Android is open source or not (same applies to Symbiant
BTW). If you are interested in getting apps out, what counts are the
binaries running on handsets in the field. And even if my dark
predictions are proven all wrong, one expectation with open source
software is not only the open source product, but also a open source
process. The latter at least is not in place so far, and no current
assertion it ever will. I am spitting away poison for everybody to
read and all we get is silence. At this point, from what is visible on
the surface: same old, same old... with an open source label dangling
off the thing. Looks like a total mess to me right now.
