It's a bit of a misleading statement, if you sign up for the tariff they mention right now with any 'phone other than the G1 you get 500 more minutes and 1,000 more texts per month for the same price.
The tariff they mention for 40 GBP which the G1 will be free on is currently available for 31.50GBP on T-Mobile UKs web site, and as it'll be a two year lock-in you end up paying 204GB for the 'phone ((40-31.50)* 24) which is around 350 USD. So it's not the bargain you think it is :). Al.
