I picked up my G1 two days ago.
No public transit directions, no walking directions in the Maps
application.

Obviously you can still get to them via the browser going directly to
maps.google.com

Public transit and walking directions were the PRIMARY reason why I
wanted this phone. I'm floored that Google didn't include those
features on it's own device, especially when the mobile Google maps
applications for -other- phones includes those features. I really hope
these are just coming in the next update, along with things like a
soft keyboard, etc. Very very disappointing to get this great device
in-hand and find out that it's killer app has been neutered.
