Ed, I just tested it, not plugged into power. My keypad will stay up, but the screen does turn off. If I hit menu, it just turns the screen back on, same with the hardware backkey. If you hit phone, it brings up another dialer outside of your phone call, while if you it end it just ends the call. I do have a pattern lock on, so I know it's not due to that. And I do have RC30. Also in another test, when the screen does turn off, if I hit any of those keys again. I get the option to pull the keypad up, if I hadn't already had it up.
