*shrug* If I had a dime for every person who came on these lists and demanded that Google/OHA do such-and-so, I could retire. I don't mean that in a bad way -- many of these demands are good ideas. However, there's a lot of them, and the core Android team is only so big. Given a choice between them spending time on things we can't do (e.g., improve Android Market) or things we can do (e.g., provide more developer resources), I'd rather they spend time on the former. But, hey, that's just me. > Hmm, let me reveal it that I came from Symbian world to make > experiments with Android - and I like it pretty much. Welcome to Android-land! "Eventually" the official Google/OHA-sponsored resources may wind up being a one-stop shop. Or "eventually" things may be no different than they are today -- it kinda depends on why things are the way they are today. > But it'd be more efficient > if everything was in a single place. I'm not completely convinced of that. You assume that a monopoly on publishing outlets will result in an equivalent amount of material published. IMHO, if the ecosystem is crushed by Google-offered resources, long-format material may suffer. This is not to say I'm opposed to Google/OHA beefing up their developer support offerings. I am hoping, though, that those offerings will include ways to "plug in" outside resources, rather that pretending such resources don't exist. But, again, that's just me. > Ps.: could you give us a link to the wiki you mentioned? As I said, "I've been toying with setting up a wiki (or wiki-ish) service". Nothing's ready yet. I'm going to try to rejigger my workload to get moving on some of this sooner. -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com Android Training in Sweden -- http://www.sotrium.com/training.php --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
