Yeah. Sure. Google/Android team members who -do- have names have said,
publically, that they like the multitouch hack but it is just a hack -
HOWEVER, if a proper api is designed (tha includes the possibility of
independent sensing of multiple fingers, non-mt devices, etc) they would be
HAPPY to merge it and make sure it is included in the platform. (And for the
record, Luke - the author of the mt patch - agrees that it is a hack right
now. But he has somewhat lost interest, having scratched his biggest itches
in that area already.)

I can dig the exact messages out of google groups if you really want.
