I don't see people spending money to buy my app just to get the reward points. Rather people will buy my app because they really want to buy my app and the reward points is just a free gift that only helps your company.
The example about using reward points as the deciding factor between two products usually only works with comodities. There is nothing that sounds too good about this offer. Don't know why you think this is a great offer. The benefit to the Android end user is certainly more direct, but it definitely benefit the developers who join. The developer benefit is less direct, so let me explain in more detail: If you agree that what we offer is beneficial to Android users, then you will agree that a number of Android users will sign up (hopefully a large percentage of the growing Android user base). For these users who sign up for these reward programs, they are motivated to do things that will earn them more points and therefore more prizes. So, they will actively seek out other applications they can try in the Mogees Developer Network. Going back to the OpenTable example, I am a member and I participate in their rewards program. Now whenever I have to make a reservation at a restaurant, I look on OpenTable first - because if I can find something there I like, I earn points which I can redeem for vouchers. Similarly, Android users participating in the Mogees Reward Points program will actively seek other other applications that are part of the Mogees Reward Network, so they can earn more points. For example, if they decide they want to try a new game they haven't tried before, they will likely search for the keyword "Mogees" from Android Market, which will return a list of all apps part of the Mogees Developer Network (which have in their app description that says the app is part of the Mogees Reward Network). Basically, more users will see and try out your app if you are part of the Mogees Developer Network, because they get rewarded for it. It won't help you if your app is horrible and has a zero star rating, but will certainly help if your app is a good app. On Mar 12, 9:36 pm, Incognito <[email protected]> wrote: Ok, if this is a legitimate business and not out there to scam people then sorry for the rude comment. This sounds great for users and your company. The benefits for developers you are proposing are extremely week in my own opinion ( I may be wrong or simply need to hear some success stories). For example, I don't see how it will help me market my app. Me hoping to have substantial sales just because of the rewards points is naive. We've been around for a while and I've been on this forum for a while. The Mogees Reward Network is a new program we just launched and is a legitimate marketing program we're running, it's definitely NOT a scam. We've raised funding from some top tier angel investors in the valley and we've allocated specific marketing budget to promote our this program. It's similar to how restaurants join the OpenTable service and part of the benefit is that OpenTable end users earn points when they reserve and dine at those restaurants. We're trying to build up a network of high quality Android applications (we're also on the BlackBerry platform) so we're willing to pay real money to do so. Android users will earn points which can be redeemed for Amazon Gift certificates or Nintendo Wii. Reward programs are well established and have been proven to encourage loyalty behavior by consumers. Airlines and credit cards have been doing it for decades and that's the model we're using. We honestly believe this program is beneficial to developers who choose to participate. There are more than a thousand apps on the Android Market already, and that number is increasing quickly. As a point of comparison, the Apple App Store already has close to 300K apps. It is easy to get lost in all of that noise. By joining the network (which is completely free for developers and consumers), you can market your app as one your users can earn reward points and prizes, which will distinguish your app from the rest. I certainly agree that the Mogees Reward Points will not be the only reason someone will download and use your app. But, if I have a choice of downloading two apps that sound very similar, have the same star rating, but one offers me reward points and the other doesn't, I will certainly download the one with the reward points. We've selectively reached out to folks on the forum who have participated in discussions related to how to monetize or increase visibility for Android Apps, assuming that our program would be the most attractive to you. I apologize if we've offended anyone.. Best, Dave On Mar 12, 8:44 pm, Incognito <[email protected]> wrote: Damn, I just noticed the same thing. Got an email from them thinking that it had come from the mailing list but it was a direct email. I responded thinking that I was mailing everybody but it was only nancy. Anyway, stinks like a scam or ripoff. I don't think they've made a sreious case of how is going to help me, the developer. Instead of a simbiotic relationship all I see is a parasitic relationship. People will download my app if it is great not because of them. They just want to take advantage of great apps without providing any true benefit to the developer. Bunch of retards. I thought the groups were protected. No? Hi Android Developer, A great way to distinguish your Android app from the crowd and increase your downloads is the newly launched Mogees Reward Network. You join by integrating the basic version of our SDK (not payments enabled). Let your users know they earn Mogees Reward Points for downloading your app and each day they use your app. Points can be redeemed for gifts like Amazon Gift Certificates or a Nintendo Wii. Why join? · More Usage. Increase the downloads relative to your competition. · No Costs. This program is completely free to you and Android users and there is no catch. · Open Enrollment. We are currently in a limited time open enrollment so no application or approval to join. · All On Us.. Basically, we pay Android users to download your app and use it on a daily basis. We are providing this as the starting step to our virtual currency platform and are looking to lay the foundation for the network. You can find out more about the Mogees Reward Network athttp://www.mogees.com/public/reward_developer. Please let me know if you have any questions!
