Quid pro quo - if you help me with my app by testing it, why shouldn't they
get a full copy of it?

I would limit the number of testers per beta and ideally be able to qualify
beta candidates from the registered pool of testers. Testers could be rated
based upon their feedback, this would help qualify them for future beta
programs.

This might give the _________ 13 year olds something more constructive to do
with their abundance of free time ;).
