There's an ad going on India right now by one of the carriers promoting
their local SMS. Usually 2 people (friends, love, family et al) are close to
each other and they talk to each other by SMS. Its like 10paise/min or
something, but I sit at home watching in wonder why the heck they are not
using an IM service..

The whole carrier value added services in funny in quite a number of ways.

PS: Upon further deep thoughts, people in India do not usually get a data
plan unless they own a smart phone like gphone or an iphone. Case in point -
ME!! (Only ADP1 forced me to a data plan).
