Well guys, if we can get UK debit payments to process, I will buy both of your apps just out of principle :)
I have since installed the SlideME market client (https://slideme.org/) and find it works well. Although does take a few days for all the applications to appear in the list, when I first launched it there were no applications listed! I'll look into reporting this bug when I get chance. I would suggest UK developers offer their applications via SlideME (or a similar alternative) as well as the Android market, and make this fact obvious on the market description so users know where else to get hold of it. At least it gives customers a chance to pay for the apps if they want to.
