Operators like everything to go through them so that they can milk their
customers as much as they can. With android they are finally starting to loose
their grip. At least Some of them. Making them dumb pipes will ensure that
anybody can compete in the market. To depend on them for billing may be a step
backwards.

Basically they don't have a good track record when it comes to allowing third
party developers deploy apps on phones runing on their network. Because of this
alone I don't trust them.

They would still be trying to milk every cent they could had the iPhone not
come alone.

Mainly because I don't have enough info. Frankly I would probably use it if it
were available(although kicking and screaming), but I'm not going to fight for
it.
I just really don't like the operators getting involved in billing. They should
just hurry up and become the dum pipes they will eventually be.

I feel you guys are too quick to give up the freedoms we are gaining just to
make a quick buck. Long term I believe is better to not have the operators as
middleman.

Hang on, there'll always be a middleman. What difference does it make
if it's an operator or not? I don't understand your point.
Please, elaborate.

Thanks!
