(In the USA it is illegal to cancel/refuse a warranty on unrelated faults due to software changes. And more concretely, plenty of people go to tmobile and google with bugs that are unrelated to the changes and get help. If you are worried, you can take a backup - not possible with stock firmware, oops - then just reflash that nbh and go in with that. It includes every piece of firmware including bootloader.)
