urm, the couple of apps that I have paid for, have been availible to download again (without being charged) through the market. One purchaced, you can wipe it off your phone and re-install it again as you like -I believe the purchaces are linked and availible to your google ID. I've been using greed and regulally wipe my phone and switch between the different firmwares. I've been able to re-download the app for free on each :) hope this helps.
