Thanks for chiming in guys.
There's a number of ways to build this - whatever meets the needs of
your app or can be built rapidly. It's between the effort to build up
the client side, or the server side for pushing out data. Got to bite
the bullet one way or another.
In any case, I really like the ability to take advantage of Android's
flexibility rather than be limited to a prescribed method.
