By legitimate, I mean permissible from the perspective of Google (and maybe HTC). I am not interested in having a device where I have root access only thanks to a loop-hole, as this could be closed in later versions of Android. To rephrase my original question, does a sim- unlocked/non-contract MyTouch 3G fall under this category?
