Phone: T-Mobile G1, purchased used(barely) with firmware 1.1 on it. Carrier: Fido (they are a sub of Rogers and don't natively carry the HTC Dream)
Phone worked fine by SMS stopped working 1.5 days after using it(coudl receive but not send). Called carrier 'reset' my account and SMS worked for another 1.5 days. Carrier 'did something' (I suspect it was another 'reset') but nothing changed and I could not send or receive SMS. Been researching the pros/cons of rooting my phone and decided that this is a good time to check it out. I followed this process: http://www.ryebrye.com/blog/2009/08/16/android-rooting-in-1-click-in-progress/ When I rebooted the phone to install the new image it hung for 'a very long time' (wasn't timing it but I suspect it was about 5 mins) and got nervous. I rebooted the phone again, restored from the back and it has been working since. Ever since, though, Google Sky Map will not work. Worked before but not now.(watch this thread: http://groups.google.com/group/android-discuss/browse_thread/thread/90dca5a9782b5634). So, when I have a moment, I will try again, unless the majority here things that Rye Brye's process is way out to lunch, as soon as I can sit down and make sure I got the time to fix anything should the process go wrong. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
