T-Mobile said they had to rollout the update sooner than expected because of a critical bug (occasional reboot when calling 911 !) "The update also includes an important fix for isolated instances of system reboots after dialing 911. We have worked with Google and HTC on a solution, and the rollout of Android 1.6 is being accelerated to ensure the system reboot fix is rapidly delivered to our customers." http://forums.t-mobile.com/tmbl/board/message?board.id=AndroidGeneral&message.id=6902 I do not know if such a bug impacts versions for other network providers, or for other emergency numbers (112 ...).
