That strategy does work pretty well. MJrTom has me pegged too. I noticed a lot more Android activity on LinkedIn then here, but I prefer Google Groups so I thought I'd try tried and tested methods of increasing community participation.
I'm actually not sure what Android Discuss is, or rather what it ended up being. Here is it's description: " The "water cooler" of Android discussion. Free-wheeling discussion from ideas about the Android platform to your announcements on other Android resources. Welcome to the Android community! We're glad you're here and invite you to participate in these discussions. Before posting, please read the Groups Charter that covers the community guidelines. " If this was a "community" we would be introducing ourselves. So I tried it. Since it didn't work out so well, I'm betting this group is something else. It's basically a place to go to ask Android questions that aren't better answered somewhere else. That's a good thing too.
