You will only get A-GPS if you use the phone on a data plan, this uses cell towers.

While the D-GPS works completely independently of cell towers and off of GPS satellites.

One can code to both or one. The reason for picking up a D-GPS enabled device is not buy the darn data plan which the carrier provides.

The A and the D in GPS do different things.

AGPS helps acquisition time because it initializes the receiver to a
location. It doesn't help accuracy as base station based triangulation
is less accurate than plain GPS by order of magnitude or so
WAAS is good stuff; self contained. I don't even follow this anymore
however. From an app development standpoint, it doesn't make a
difference.

Looking for a development phone which has D-GPS.

The Bad - this will only work outdoors
The Good - Will not need a phone plan to use A-GPS

Looks like the only phone with D-GPS is the Geeksphone ?

Wonder if this comes with a US based power supply ?
