Exactly - the market has a list of whitelisted ids, building 2.2 for Droid will produce a different build id than Google expects (this will remain true even after an official 2.2 is released). So it needs to be fudged to get full market access...
BUT - since there is no official 2.2, it would only make sense to fudge another (similar) phones 2.2.. rather than using Droid/2.2.. Anyway - getting off topic :) On 15 Jul 2010 06:28, "Matt Pellerin" <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm not sure of the specific reason, I'm the test engineer side not dev :) > but I believe that since the rom is build from source tree and device is > rooted that the id needs to be manually set for 2.2 since it is currently > flashed with 2.1 market > > On Jul 14, 2010 9:14 PM, "Maps.Huge.Info (Maps API Guru)" < [email protected]> > wrote: > >> Misunderstanding...its the Moto Droid mod community running custom 2.2 > roms >> after rooting their ... > Ok, that makes sense.
