If you dont want to install it on everyone's machine, why not make USB keys with the software installed on it?
Alternately, if the kids can handle running a simple installer themselves, consider getting the Motorola SDK which I believe is all pre-integrated with a single installer. If this is educational, i bet there are even people at Motorola who would be willing to help you set it all up.
