...and the disruption is good for developers. Competition with the
Android Market is a good thing, and will  hopefully force Google to
finally perform some much needed updates and enhancements.

Competition is good.  Having many different venues to sell products
(our apps) is good, and decentralizing the control of how apps are
distributed is good.  However, I don't think the Amazon model is good
for developers in this particular case.
