It's also not uncommon for apps to get corrupted on the phone after install, 
either right away or after some period of time. Here's a likely case of

And generally, I get emails every now and then from users for whom my app 
was working fine for a while - then suddenly started to fail in some weird, 
off-the-wall, non-reproducible way - which is then fine again after they 
reinstall. A corrupted binary is the most likely explanation here.
