There is always the potential for anomalies. In many cases, I believe that the uninstall/reinstall did nothing, despite the user's sincere belief. There are users that claim their compass got more accurate after uninstalling and reinstalling my app. I have no reason to believe that that is true. Maybe they just happen to jiggle their phone around when they install things.
So if someone tells me that they uninstalled and reinstalled and everything worked again, I'll be glad that it's working, but I won't count on the fact that I've actually found or fixed the real problem.
