We don't say "throw us under the bus" because they've got a planned outage.
That's fine, everybody has to do maintenance.

We say "throw us under the bus" because usually, when Checkout goes down,
there is no error reporting to the user. All they see is that their payments
don't authorize, and the most readily available contact email is the
developer's, so they hassle us about it. Like we can do anything. Or worse
yet, they give our apps 1* comments because Google Checkout is broken.

I'm not making this up. Here's a real comment from one of my apps:

27 minutes just to AUTHORIZE the purchase???? Sure don't want to find out
how long it takes to download!
But looking on the bright side, I haven't seen any from last night's outage,
so maybe we weren't thrown under the bus after all. :^)
