There are several apps in the Marketplace for finding a lost phone. The two I tried are "Wheres My Droid" [sic] and Lookout (has other features as well). Each of these apps depend on the ability to send a short SMS message to your phone to enable an audible alarm (in case you lost it at home or in your car), and turn on GPS and send coordinates to a website that you log into (or email). Unfortunately, if you've set up your phone to integrate with Google Voice, these apps (and probably others like them) will not work because Google Voice will intercept each of these text messages.
I suppose that if one needs to use one of these services, one can always disable Google Voice for the phone from the Google Voice website, then use the app to find a lost phone. Heck, if my phone were really lost, I wouldn't want it to be connected to GV any more. But since Google has control over the GV app, it would be really nice if Google could integrate a feature like this into Google Voice for finding a lost phone and also disable GV on that device for all other uses until the phone is found and re-enabled again by the account owner.
