I have a free lite version of my app, and it's more a limited functionality than an ad supported thing, but am curious on exploring ads, while adding some additional features from the paid version. But if it's not really going to bring much, and just annoy users who are used to a relatively pleasant ad-free experience, I'd keep ad-free. I really detest ads, but if unobtrusive enough (I would immediately uninstall an "AirPush" app based on what is being described here) I don't mind them - for example at the bottom of an app dashboard/main menu, or in the settings screen.
