Google makes billions of dollars every year. Part of that money comes from the whole GMaps philosphy to serve location based ads to consumers. So now they are going to put ads in my maps and charge me to use them? That’s like me paying companies to put ads on my site.

Before GMaps, there were NO good free map APIs (and not many good paid options, for that matter).
