It is best to download the .exe SDK installer for it is easier. Don’t install the SDK in C:\Program Files because eclipse won’t be able to find the Devices located in the android-sdk\tools folder. This will all make sense when you have eclipse installed. You need to download Eclipse Classic. The Installing SDK section in the Android Developer website is helpful for explaining how to set up the ADT plugin for Eclipse. once the ADT plugin is installed go to Window-Preference-Android and enter the location of the previously installed SDK. You will get an error if there is a space anywhere in the location path. Ask if you need help because I ran through every single possible problem but have successfully developed a (working) app for Android!

I intend to hang on to some of my C++ code, but of course I will have to learn more about Java and probably do some new projects completely in Java. My development environment is on Windows 7. Here is what I have downloaded so far but not installed, until I know for sure what is correct. Thank you very much. android-ndk-r6-windows.zip eclipse-cpp-indigo-incubation-win32.zip eclipse-SDK-3.7-win32.zip installer_r12-windows.exe jdk-7-windows-i586.exe -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
