The comparison of issues with Android Market vs. the other products is difficult to make.
The Android Market is a very unique product for a variety of reasons the most important being that is directly tied to developers income. Another important distinction, is that Google is the single provider of this marketplace for all of Android (I realize there are alternative markets, but none of them truly viable or as important as THE Android Market). They are the sole provider of a service that is directly tied to the income of many, many people world-wide. This is a different product, and needs to be treated as such. The comparison to the ADT is also not reasonable. That team is extremely active in the community, completely open about their issues, and provide clear communications about their plans. The Android Market is the polar opposite. No communication, no acknowledgement of issues, no information about plans, no customer service, no ... . I saw on G+ that Reto Meier is working on scheduling a hangout with the Market team, specifically planning to keep it productive, and not a bitch session. Hopefully they are learning their lessons, and making an effort open the lines of communication. It is not too late for them to mend their ways (obviously, we aren't going anywhere - we're stuck). Let's hope that the Market team learns from some of the other successful products that unfortunately, we can't compare them to. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
