I published my 16th app on the Market yesterday, and so far I have been lucky as it was fairly smooth sailing for the first 15 apps, but I have been having a very strange experience with the Market on this app.
Even an explicit search by com.<publisher-name>.<app> with the full path does NOT find the app, unless I also "sort-by- popularity" on the web. The problem is that the newest app seems to show up in almost no explicit searches on the Android Market. I know it's been uploaded successfully because: 1) It has been bought by one customer who somehow seems to have found it. 2) It shows up on a half dozen of the sites like androidpit, androidzoom etc when searched for there. 3) I can find it if I do an explicit search e.g. by <publisher-name> , but ONLY if I then do a **sort-by-popularity on the Web** version of the market. Since the sort-by-popularity is not the default, and AFAIK is not available on Android clients, I can't find it from a handset or tablet at all. I was lucky to have stumbled on the "sort-by-popularity" method as I have been pulling my hair out for the last day, and I guess the one customer did too, but it appears as though nobody is going to be able to find the app by this obscure method. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Thanks! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
