Careful on "d". Just because they are newsletter suscribers or follow your blog does not mean they are your friends. Pointing out to someone you've changed permissions and want them to go leave comments so negative goes away can end up with comments like: "Great dev until they changed permissions and tried to hide it by bribing fans. 1 star uninstalled. 5 stars again if update includes a new developer." And then it just goes downhill farther. My advice is just ride it out.
