Hubby and I both currently have rapidly aging HTC Evo 4G phones from Sprint. They have served us both splendidly as our intro to smartphones, but we now find ourselves at a point where we can now upgrade to something new, as we got them on the upswing nearly 2 years ago. As we have a long time business account, we cannot change from Sprint.

I am the resident techie of the family, and this model was originally selected as not just a cell phone replacement but as a replacement for my dying Palm TX, which was (like the Evo now) the repository of my entire life :) I rarely use the phone functionality in favor of the other apps, but do need it. Hubby is the opposite. He lives and dies with his cell, and rarely uses his apps beyond email, news, sports and weather. Mine typically runs out of phone space quickly (even after moving stuff to SD), his has abundant space available all the time. Mine is generally on the charger while I use it, his is not, so it usually dies much faster than mine 'cause he forgets to recharge it :) You get the idea I'm sure.

We got the same model to keep it simple keep them updated and otherwise maintained (I do it for both), and I want to keep it that way by again having the same phones, so it has to give me a good experience as the 4g does now (Hubs will ignore most of that :) We do not live in or near any flavor of a 4G area (although of course we pay for the "privilege" of having a 4G phone), and rarely travel to one, and to the best of our knowledge, it's probably never coming here (too small an area). We still need cell phones and it has to fit into his pocket, so we do not want any kind of tablet.

What's out there in the next 60 days or so that would be a good replacement for the Evo 4G? Hopefully for under $250 apiece :) Does not have to be an HTC, any comparable model would be fine.

TIA
