Ben,
You could try to install the images from
http://panicking.kicks-ass.org/download/ (freerunner-v14.6.jffs2 and
uImageV17.bin) for better battery performance.
I've left the phone up to three days in my truck, and it still was at
20% battery, and I even made a couple phone calls during that period.
There's instructions on http://panicking.kicks-ass.org/blog how to up
the volume by editing asound.conf. Patching that file makes for a very
usable and stable phone using those images.

Hi All,
I just got a freerunner and installed the latest beta6 image. It's
working pretty well, but I'm getting terrible battery life -- only
around 6 hours without making any phone calls or wifi and with the
screen turned off.
Is this about typical and are there any tricks for improving battery
life?
I think that the system don't really suspend and remain on. The
battery life is about 2 days
in suspend mode without sim. Michael
Can you check if the system is up with adb?
Thanks,
Ben
