I had the echo problem you described. It happened to me while I was
running the openmoko software on my GTA02v6. Then I tried some androids
and none of them had this issue (I remember koolu beta3 and beta6 were
working best from GSM point of view, with beta7 conversations are
terminated after a random time).
To me it seems like an anomaly in alsa configuration not the buzz bug.
Did you tried another versions/distributions ?
