 Ok, figured it out.

 I put a repository under:

     git://git.koolu.org/platform/external/gears.git
     http://git.koolu.org/?p=platform/external/gears.git;a=summary

since I didn't feel like fixing the Browser package's build
system, I just added a build script there and replaced the
binary in the Browser's source tree by hand. Should someone
need to rebuild the plugin, you can check out the source from
the URL above, put it somewhere in the Android tree (e.g.
external/gears), go to the corresponding branch and call the
 build script.

 Thanks Jim!
