I reinstalled Cupcake 1.5-alpha1 yesterday and it now suspends, so battery life is much better. I don't know why it didn't work the first time.
My biggest annoyances right now: - Wifi doesn't work after resume. I have to go into Settings and turn it off then on in order to get it to reconnect. - No GPRS.
