Hi, I have tried to submit two patches (9749, 9782) to 2.6.27 branch. One is an enhancement (adding a driver) and the other is a bug fix for a kernel exception. These patches are just back-ported from 2.6.29, so it should be safe to apply them. However, one is rejected and the other is just ignored. The rejected reason is "we are no longer accepting patches for the 2.6.27 tree".
I don't like such a reason. If 2.6.27 is an obsolete branch, it is fair to reject by this reason. But 2.6.27 is still the master branch (correct if I'm wrong), I can't see any rationality to reject or ignore an enhancement or a bugfix.
